چکیده

This paper presents various classifiers results from a system that can automatically recognize four different static human body postures in video sequences. The considered postures are standing, sitting, squatting, and lying. The three classifiers considered are a naı̈ve one and two based on the belief theory. The belief theory-based classifiers use either a classic or restricted plausibility criterion to make a decision after data fusion. The data come from the people 2D segmentation and from their face localization. Measurements consist in distances relative to a reference posture. The efficiency and the limits of the different classifiers on the recognition system are highlighted thanks to the analysis of a great number of results. This system allows real-time processing. Keywords—Belief theory, classifiers comparison, data fusion, human motion analysis, real-time processing, static posture recognition.

A Human Body Analysis System

This paper describes a system for human body analysis (segmentation, tracking, face/hands localisation, posture recognition) from a single view that is fast and completely automatic. The system first extracts low-level data and uses part of the data for high-level interpretation. It can detect and track several people even if they merge or are completely occluded by another person from the came...

Facial Expression Recognition Based on Anatomical Structure of Human Face

Automatic analysis of human facial expressions is one of the challenging problems in machine vision systems. It has many applications in human-computer interactions such as, social signal processing, social robots, deceit detection, interactive video and behavior monitoring. In this paper, we develop a new method for automatic facial expression recognition based on facial muscle anatomy and hum...

A Sensor-Based Scheme for Activity Recognition in Smart Homes using Dempster-Shafer Theory of Evidence

This paper proposes a scheme for activity recognition in sensor based smart homes using Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence. In this work, opinion owners and their belief masses are constructed from sensors and employed in a single-layered inference architecture. The belief masses are calculated using beta probability distribution function. The frames of opinion owners are derived automatically ...

Computational model and the human perception of emotional body language (EBL)

Emotions are undeniably a central component of human existence. In recent years, the importance of developing systems which incorporate emotions into human-computer interaction (HCI) has been widely acknowledged. However, research on emotion recognition has been dominated by studies of facial expression of emotion. In comparison, the study of EBL has received relatively little attention. Here w...

A Comparison Of Posture Recognition Using Supervised And Unsupervised Learning Algorithms

Recognition of human posture is one step in the process of analyzing human behaviour. However, it is an ill-defined problem due to the high degree of freedom exhibited by the human body. In this paper, we study both supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms to recognise human posture in image sequences. In particular, we are interested in a specific set of postures which are representativ...
